Rather, Trump’s rise is a reckoning with decades of political gridlock in government, political polarization and all around anger to the neoliberal status quo that has marched on for too long in making profits for certain sections of Capitalists at the expense of nearly everyone else.
Agreed, but how is Trump a solution to this? He is this-exactly- but now in more extreme form; and how better for him personally to fight against the inevitable backlash of even more of the same, than by embracing fascist tendencies?
He has to deflect from the fact that he has no real solutions to all of the problems he promised to solve. The best way to keep people distracted are divide and conquer strategies.
