Every time I read about the sexual assault that occurs in India, (and all of the various dynamics and ramifications around it) I am deeply saddened (and I mean deeply). It is clear from them, that human life is valued very little by the way these stories take shape. This story is no different. I want to point out that I see a trend though. The rape is always tied up into the economics, such that rape of poor women simply cannot be considered a crime in India. Now this story not only confirms that, but also that death of a poor man is no crime either. Don’t hang the rapists…it’s a really sick world where someone even has to write such an article and then explain why. I hope that the Indian justice system can evaluate itself in light of articles such as this one.
