I get that for some conspiracy theories become a religion - QAnon, for example is composed of so many evangelicals who needed to bring Trump into the holy trinity. They needed to upgrade their belief system to the times. I find the phenomenon fascinating.

I wonder with these beliefs that provide psychological comfort, does it even matter if it’s true. Even if it’s based on blatant lies, if it makes people feel better, it could be a good thing. But if it makes people violent (Pizzagate) then obviously, it’s not. QAnon theories seem to do both. I guess that’s why they’re dangerous.
