LOL! I don’t disagree. My suburb is surreal…bizarre…like living on a monopoly board. But it is quiet, relatively safe and yet the environment has always felt artificial.
The trees are beautiful though.
Its odd though…the artificiality of it bothers me now more so much more than it used to. And yet I don’t know of any place that might be better. The cities — where I grew up- are insane; and rural America is apparently on meth and hop. If I had enough Boy Scout skills to live off of the grid, I’d do it. But I don’t. Everywhere you go in America these days, there are any number of drawbacks.
I just had brunch in DC. What did that cost? $50. Only millionaires can afford to live in DC…just barely.
Someone (here on Medium) just wrote we need to admit that the great American experiment has failed.
