Man! Are you ever on the money with this one! I realized this from teaching veterans, men, mainly young ones, get grabbed up and spit out by the MIC (military industrial complex.) it just destroys the thinking feeling ones…they come back as human shrapnel.

But the ones who have somehow become dead inside…maybe they always were, seem to delight in all the killing they’ve done.

Someone…or some sick inhumane thing…deeply prefers the latter to the former…because that’s the “tool” it needs for its purposes.

It largely doesn’t bother to pretend that military service has anything to do with honor, duty, Service…any of that bullshit…these men are human fodder for the machine. And it’s truly tragic what becomes of most of them IF (and that’s a big IF) they survive the experience.
