What do you do with a year like this? I just don’t know and this seems like as good a plan as any. I’m trying to collect my own reflections and it is exhausting; and yet this that you’ve written seems oddly hopeful and authentic and true.
We are not going to stop being simply because there are those who would insist that we shouldn’t. More than anything, I’ve been thinking about how utterly absurd it is to try to deny the existence of people like you or me, and millions, if not billions of others.
That sort of thinking has got to fail, right? I think the way forward is this: we continue being oddly, hopeful and authentic and true — and just know, that’s beautiful. We Can’t be afraid when we know exactly who we are.
