Why Does Qanon Have Everyone So Worked up?
Shannon Ashley wrote about “poor Bill Gates” being attacked on Twitter, by crazy loons and their conspiracy theories. It really wasn’t about Gates at all, or even conspiracy theories, but more about the mother/daughter conflict around Shannon refusing to entertain her mother’s conspiracy theories. I read the piece, hoping her mother could shed some light on the Bill Gates nano-vaccine hysteria. It didn’t really.
Don’t Criticize Bill Gates!
I skimmed the article and made a quick comment:
You’re not Bill Gates. I’m sure he could care less…having a gazillion dollars to play around with, implementing his personal plans for world domination. This doesn’t exactly make one a sympathetic character. I don’t do conspiracy theories, but I don’t care for simply writing them off either. Conspiracy theorists are critical thinkers, and I do not appreciate the demonization or crazy stigma that gets thrown onto them all the time. Conspiracy theorists does not = crazy.
I got a lot of claps! But so much more hate. I wrote this article a few months back. Do you know what I learned, and will re-edit into this new post? Don’t Criticize Bill Gates! These are some of the comments I received:
Conspiracy theorists are *not* critical thinkers… And it all amounts to a deep divide between what the conspiracy theorists believe and reality. And when someone mistakes fact for fiction and vice versa, we tend to think of that person as crazy. It’s not a stigma, it’s just accurately describing what we see.
Most have never taken a statistics course. Most do not understand the scientific method. Most do not get “correlation is not causation”. Most don’t know what “self selection” error means. Most don’t see the “confounding factors” that operate, must operate, in a classic conspiracy theory. Most don’t recognize that the psychology of conspiracy theory is (mostly) cult psychology “Light”.
Conspiracy theories, by definition, are never supported by facts, truth and logic. So no, they are NOT critical thinkers. They’re nuts.
And those were the nice comments. They got much worse. On and on and ON, it went and continues! I just got a comment on that old post today.
Those Crazy Conspiracy Theorists!
Why is it so important for conspiracy theories and conspiracy theorist to be labeled “crazy?” I am aware that there some conspiracy theorists who do arrive at conclusions that are not necessarily supported by facts. There are others who line up behind entire movements that seem bizarre (Qanon.)
But at least these people are willing to ask questions. They are willing question information presented. We should all be doing that, all the damn time. (This is the public service component of the conspiracy theorists work.)
Who Are the Conspirators?
Here are a few definitions of a conspiracy theorist :
Someone who believes that an idea that an event or a situation is the result of a secret plan made by powerful people. — The Cambridge Dictionary.
A theory that explains an event or set of circumstances as the result of a secret plot by usually powerful conspirators. — The Merrium Webster Dictionary.
So what is so ridiculous about believing this? Do powerful people not make secret plans? Of course they do! They make insider trading plans, they make corporate sabotage plans, they make kill their about- to-divorce-them spouse plans. One episode of American Greed shows how greed is all about effectively executing some secretive, scheming, plotting plans.
Corrupt and powerful people constantly conspire. They conspire to do all sorts of nefarious things for their own selfish interests. They might set off a race war. Do you have any idea what that would do for Fox News ratings?They might propose a mandatory vaccine. Can you just imagine how rich and powerful the maker of such a vaccine would be? They might force everyone out of the real world and into a virtual one, so they can be more easily controlled. They might. They might not. These are theories
And what is critical to the effective execution of these plans? Secrecy. No questions being asked about their plans. A spotlight shed, especially if the plans are nefarious, usually leads to ruination of said plans. So discouraging questions about these plans, is absolutely critical to the effective implementation of nefarious plans.
The rich and powerful always conspire to control less powerful people. Always. This is the construct that human civilization is built upon…one set of powerful people, controlling multitudes of less powerful people via any means necessary.
This is why conspiracy theories are subversive. They are about questioning the narrative that has been cultivated by those in power. Power hates for its narratives to be questioned. The only thing power despises more than being questioned, is being told the truth.
Aha! So this is why it so important to label conspiracy theorists crazy. If no one listens to them; powerful plans don’t ever get disturbed or threatened; at least not by the conspiracy theorists.
Some conspiracy theorists may even intentionally act crazy, to discredit other conspiracy theorist. Here are some insulting comments made to me about my defense of conspiracy theorists:

You wouldn’t know critical thinking if it smacked you up ‘side the head with a copy of the Art of Reasoning.
I was shocked that I was subjected to such hostility. This is my personal preference. Why can’t I entertain these theories if I so choose?
We are not allowed to look behind the curtain at the silly old man behind the great and powerful Oz, because then the illusion crumbles. But that’s what’s happening right now; and the conspirators don’t like it at all!
Who Are the Conspiracy Theorists?
Conspiracy Theorists often come across as whacky, nutso, and creepy. What is to be following the rabbit holes? Not much, quite honestly. Not much. Loss of sleep. Loss of peace of mind.
But that is not the right question to ask, the better question is, what would be lost if no one does the dirty work of asking questions about, really weird shit, and just accepts whatever lame explanations are offered about it?
Well then, I suspect the weird shit would just become more normalized; and that is what is happening! It’s getting really sick and freaky out in the world.
“Would you love to get a little kid for an hour?”
Not going to ask any questions about that? No? I mean you were fine with the pizza, though. Shit is getting really weird these days.
This picture is creepy, for so many different reasons. These children, are supposed to be little girls (I think). And yet, they have the faces of angry men. The artist, Biljana Djurdjevic, is not someone you can easily find information about. But in the information that you can find, she admits to painting victims of pedophelia. That is surely what this picture looks like to me. These children look as if they are being commodified for some sick purpose. Why are they not fully dressed? Why are they on their knees? Why are they covering their butts? What is the purpose?
This picture, without much explanation, is going to raise questions. Why would anyone want to own this creepy picture? Just why? This is the kind of information that “pizza gate” is built on.
Pizzagate
Honestly, Pizzagate is one of those conspiracy theories that are so far out, so incredibly strange, so deep down any number of rabbit holes, I have never paid much attention to it. I think the theory is that people in the Hillary Clinton campaign were involved with child sexual human trafficking in the basement of DC pizzaria? I think that is the theory. Someone was so convinced that this was in fact true, he went to the pizzaria with an assault weapon and shot through the window, in an attempt to free the trafficked children. (I have verified that this is in fact the story. Will be posting on it later.)
There are a lot of facts around the conspiracy theory called “pizza gate” that are really weird. The “spirit cooking” chef and celebrity, party-thrower, Marina Abramović, is super weird. Don’t know if she’s a “satanist” but she subliminally shoves those satanists symbols into every picture she takes of herself. And, let’s not pretend that eating cakes made to look like human beings being butchered isn’t weird. It’s weird. Why do you want to go to that kind of party? What do you do once you get there? But she is the apparently, a high-powered bestie that everyone wants to have at their party. All the billionaires (including Bill Gates) want a chance to do some spirit cooking, with this character. What’s up with that? Qanon has all the answers.
The spirit cooking lady, and the Podestas, (with the blessings of the Clintons) rape and kill children in a satanic pedophile ring. This story simply will not die. (Since I first published this piece, this conspiracy theory has exploded. #savethechildren, Qanon is taking over religion and politics. On and on and on with these conspiracies about John Podesta’s emails and the DNC and rings of pedophilia. (Oh apparently the Bushes are in on it too.)
All spring, a secret military was making mass arrests of all the liberal celebrities and politicians involved in this sickness, under the guidance of everyone’s hero, President Trump. (Seems that this secret militarily would have been able to easily handle all the national civil unrest, having taken down the satanic cabal and all.)
We are less than two months away from the 2020 election, I know of no high-profile arrests; but there are millions of people who believe this is true. And this is why conspiracy theorist get labeled crazy.
Denver Airport
But what about this bizarreness at Denver Airport?
Why would anyone want to paint this? Seriously, what artists says:
My artistic vision? A bunch of dead kids, crying mothers, and the grim reaper…in military uniform and a gun and a sickle, pointed at a dove.
The official answer from the Denver Airport Commission is that the mural is commemorative tribute to all the children who died in WWII. In an airpor, though? Whatever. This is bullshit.
The theories around these images have been fully coopted by Qanon and recycled for its own purposes: underground tunnels, secret societies, “illuminati,” satanic human sacrificing rituals, involving raping and killing children while drinking their adrenochrome. Yep, the Clintons and their crew are all up inside those airport tunnels.
I’m not saying any of this true. (I’m also not saying it’s not, either.) Denver Airport has pictures of dead kids posted all over its walls- and that’s bizarre. We all should be asking questions, because we should all be offended.
This is not normal.
The conspiracy theories about Denver Airport proliferated because the answers given to questions about real things, do not make any sense.
Qanon took these bad answers and have created a new religion/cult where Trump is the new JFK/Jesus. Are you a believer?
As for Bill Gates, and his vaccine, what’s your theory? Amli am listening; and I I promise, I won’t call you crazy!
