Yeah, I would agree but, based on what he said, she said, it does sound like the critic who wrote the bad review, was trying to paint these characters into a basketful of deplorable stereotypes. A fifty-cent look alike? A screaming crackhead? From the parts of the review he quotes it sounds like the critic was all “ewwww gross! A movie about, like, poor gay black people! Ugh!” And not a real reviewer, who could critically review something.

I am reading reviews trying to determine whether I want to spend $15 bucks on this thing, and so I would like to read real reviews and not “oh my God Becky Sue thinks this film is sooo gross, cause she never knew there were like gay black people” reviews. Accuracy, nuance, intelligent thought should actually count for something when someone is reviewing a film.
