You are preaching to the choir. Clearly, I understand that an awareness of deep and longstanding systemic racism is long overdue in mainstream America, I’m just telling you what happens if you try to force that understanding.
It’s already happening, protests and protests and kickback against protesters. I understand this dynamic very well. Like I said, it is what it is. Maybe it’s changing. Unfortunately, when coming to terms with an absolutely horrible situation (no matter what it is) the person in denial (in race in America that’s most white Americans) takes a really long time, usually to come to terms with the horrible reality they have denied for so long.
The same is true about sexism/sexual harassment. Also child abuse (clearly at the border.) People just don’t want to deal with this stuff. They prefer to stay in denial. You can’t force them out.
